      PT BNI Life Insurance (BNI Life) is an insurance company that provides various insurance products such as Life Insurance, Health, Education, Investment, Pension and Sharia. In carrying out its business activities, BNI Life has obtained a business license in the field of Life Insurance based on a letter from the Minister of Finance Number 305 / KMK.017 / 1997 dated July 7, 1997. The establishment of BNI Life is in line with the needs of its parent company, PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk or BNI, to provide integrated financial services and services for all its customers (one-stop financial services). 

      Currently BNI Life has been present through 4 distribution channels, namely Agency, Bancassurance, Employee Benefits and Sharia. Agency is marketed through agents who market individual products, while Bancassurance is marketed through the BNI network throughout Indonesia. Employee Benefits are specifically for group insurance products for companies, while sharia markets insurance products for both individuals and groups based on sharia principles. 

       On March 11, 2014, the Financial Services Authority (OJK) approved the change in share ownership of PT BNI Life Insurance ("BNI Life"). Based on the agreement on March 21, 2014, BNI Life held an EGMS with the agenda of issuing 120,279,633 new shares, all of which were subscribed by Sumitomo Life Insurance Company. 

        As of 9 May 2014, BNI Life has become a life insurance company (life) joint venture with PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk. Remains the controlling shareholder of 60.000000%; Sumitomo Life Insurance Company owns 39.999993%; 0.000003% owned by the BNI Employee Welfare Foundation (YKP) and 0.000003% owned by the Danar Dana Swadharma (YDD)
